CMGT 102 Construction Graphics 3.0 units
Description: This course develops the graphic communication knowledge and skills needed by the construction management professional. ADVISORY: Fundamental knowledge of MS Operating System, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat software.

Student Learning Outcomes:

1. Recognize the application of virtual construction and modeling in the design and construction industry.
2. Analyze construction documents for planning and management of construction processes.
3. Apply the principles and concepts of 2D construction graphics and 3D modeling.


CMGT 103 Construction Materials and Systems 3.0 units
Description: This course explores the various materials, systems, and processes found in the construction industry and how these materials and systems interact together to produce a complete design.

Student Learning Outcomes:

1. Analyze the methods used within the industry and the associated materials, equipment, and techniques used to construct projects.
2. Explain how and where to use all major systems and materials used in typical construction projects.


CMGT 104 Analysis of Construction Drawings and Specifications 3.0 units
Description: This course is designed to provide the student with an introduction to reading construction drawings and specifications used in the construction industry.

Student Learning Outcomes:

1. Summarize the overall organization, specific purposes, and information provided in standard construction specifications.
2. Apply the ability to read 2D building plans and project specifications.


CMGT 105 Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing Systems 3.0 units
Description: This course provides the student with an introduction to the electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems used in the construction industry. How these systems integrate into the building design and construction process will also be covered.

Student Learning Outcomes:

1. Describe the basic principles of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
2. Examine the basic principles of sustainable construction as it relates to mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.


CMGT 700 Introduction to Construction Management 0.0 units
Description: An introduction to the management of the construction industry by project managers. This construction management class is an abbreviated version of the credit construction management course and is not eligible for credit.

1. Describe the fundamental skills required of a project manager working in the construction industry.
