Time Management.

            When I started college for the first time, I soon realized that this was nothing like high school.  I learned that nobody was going to look after me, and once you get older, responsibilities come at you. Good time management is essential to succeed in college. Planning your time is important and allows you to spread your work session and avoid a "traffic jam" of work and, and cope with stress. Good time management to me is important for several reasons: one good time management can keep you organized; secondly, planning ahead and prioritizing can save you time and balance your daily activities, and thirdly, it can help you plan on a weekly basis so it can help you not procrastinate in life. It is like my psychology instructor Dr. Oler said, ÒProcrastination is a dagger in the back of academic success.Ó

 

 

            Many people face the troubling issue of time management. In most cases the lack of time someone has to complete a task is due to the lacks of prioritizing. Others have trouble tackling daily task because of the fact that they try to take on too many tasks at one time. There are some people that just waste their time doing nothing just because of pure laziness. Now more than ever, time is becoming a luxury that is wasted because people do not know how to properly manage their time wisely. In every aspect of life people are doing things that really have no value at all. Walking through a dorm on a week night you can find several students sitting around playing video games, when at the same time they have a paper or assignment due the next day. You can also find employees sitting around the office playing solitaire or writing e-mails while productive work should be getting done. Time management is a skill that can be learned, and when done can make life less stressful and more productive.  I personally learned how improper time management can be a risk factor for success.   

            Everyone has different task that need to be completed. In college many students learn to multitask and many times are not organized and they do not take proper steps when dealing with time management issues.  I learned that by staying organized it helps me stay focused in my last semester in college. For instance, I got good grades, whereas in high school not being well organized caused me to lose focus; moreover, it caused me to lose my time and good grades, and affected me outside of school. One of the issues that most college students face is that they become distracted with family, friends, and work. As I look at the past I realize that I wasted a vast amount of time; however, I learned that it can be easy to be successful just by having a planner. This is why it is crucial as a college student stay organize, so you do not delay your academic.


            I learned by planning ahead and prioritizing of time you can save yourself stress and can help balance your schedule. This was very important for me because at the time when I was a freshman in college, I learned that nothing was free, I had to pay for all my expenses so this caused me to land my first job through college to get by. I learned that if you plan ahead of time and prioritize your tasks. You develop long term time management plans many college students find long, medium and short term planning useful for organizing their time for study as efficient as possible. Planning ahead saves time and stress. I soon realized in college the basic fundamental of planning ahead and prioritizing to balance my time. Another was that help plan my task was a planner. I also talked to a counselor; that helped me manage time wisely in my freshmen year.

            Another important issue most college student do not realize is planning on a weekly bias. Students often believe that they have Òno timeÓ to study, but many of them think of studding time in three terms of three hours or more. When I first planed time slots for studding for different activities it helped me review different periods of time suit different activities. This can be the biggest issue most college students encounter in there first year in college.  I believe if you find your self a dairy or planner it can help you focus on your tasks, it can also help you with hours at work, mealtimes and family commitment, sleep time. In fact, many most freshmen students do not have some sort of planner or diary that many students end up not procrastinate to some degree. I find this to be true simply. It helped me in school to stay on top of my homework, family events and hours at work. I found that by not procrastinating you can prevent any problems that can cause from you to reaching your goals in college.

Net,Ó oftentimes college students deal with poor management skills.  Some of the common mistakes that college students make are not planning properly, something as simple as starting the day with an actions plan. Doing things the right way; planning your day out, begging doing the task when the day begins so that you can finish your task by the end of the day. no stability in life is what also affects college students struggle.  According to Time Management For Students. These are family, health, intellectual, financial, professional, social and spiritual.  You can not focus all your attention in all of these areas. It is said that one cannot work properly with out being dependent on some. This is why you need to balance your time in the different areas to stable and at peace. ÒAccording to studies, almost 75% of most students are constantly complaining of being tired easily.Ó This is caused by not having enough sleep. This is what the majority of students in college face the fact they get no sleep because they do not manage time to get enough eight –ten hours of sleep as needed.  This is why students are stressed through their day and find their day to be long and at times getting out of control.  In order to avoid this problem, you need to plan ahead of time. Master time management skills and you can prevent stress and problems in life.

I believe that time management can you help stop you procrastinating. It is an important task to accomplish for several reasons. Time management can have a positive impact on your progress towards goals and career. Good time management is one of the strongest tasks people can exercise to be successful in life.
