WELCOME TO ESL 521 Listening/Speaking

ESL Computer Lab Activities


As part of your grade for this class, you must work in the ESL Computer lab every week.  The minimum requirement is one hour, but if you really want to improve your listening skills, please go more often. 

Required Textbook Assignments:

Choose a chapter from the drop-down menu on the left-hand side of the screen.  You should work on whichever chapter we're studying in class.  Do all the listening activities (Main Idea, Specific Information, Contractions and Vocabulary)

Activities For More Practice:

Randall's ESL Cyber Listening Lab

Scroll down to "General Listening Quizzes".

Choose a conversation topic under the heading EASY.

Scroll down to Listening Exercises and click on PLAY REAL MEDIA.

Everyday English in Conversation

Choose a topic from the left hand side of the page.  Read the dialogue and click on GO to do the exercises.

Information for City Presentations 

Gather information about your assigned city.
Presentations on How to Do Something   Type your topic in the Search Box in the upper right hand corner of the page and click the orange search button.  On the next page, scroll down past the "sponsored links" to where it says "Displaying Results".  Look for information that will help you with your presentation.
