This assignment is to research and select the best camera for your needs. It is fictitious, but if you are hunting for a new camera, this may help. You may also just re-research the selection of your existing camera. It is important to realize that there is no perfect camera and a camera for one person may not be the right one for another.

  1. List 3 types of photos that you feel are the most important in your picture taking (e.g., sports pictures, portraits, travel shots, candid street pictures, macro or closeups, family/kid pictures, landscapes, animal pictures, architectural pictures, advertising shots, artistic photos).
  2. Set a dollar range for purchase. Then find megapixel range you can afford.
  3. Choose a few cameras and research their qualities using the review sites listed below. Pay attention to user reviews as well as editorial comments. Make your choice or if you are serious about 2 different camerasdo a comparison. A few very informative digital photo sites are listed below.
  4. List 5 features (e.g., telephoto lens, wide aperature, quick focusing speed, small size, im age quality) that you like about your choice of camera. Add a comment to each feature as to why you think this feature is useful for capturing the particular images listed in #1 above.
