TEXT: Designing a Digital Portfolio, by Cynthia L. Baron, New Riders, 2004. Handouts and additional assignments will be available via links on the schedule page.

Studio DM (see the Studio Help page for operation help): As most professional digital media (including CMAP video) is produced using the Macintosh computer, our lab is equipped that way. On the other hand, much of the software is cross platform and works the same way on the Windows operating system which you may use at home or work.

SUPPLIES: There are no floppy disk drives in the lab. You will need either 6 or so blank CDs (8x or faster), flash memory sticks or keys, or Zip cartridges (100 Megabyte cartridges seem to work the best) for transporting and backing up your work. Note that Macintosh computers will burn cross platform CDs and vice versa, but multiple sessions should be used on a single platform only. You will also need one or two DVD-Rs ( read dash Rs) for the final projects. All Macintoshes in the studio can burn DVDs (4 Gigabytes) for archive purposes.

Digital cameras for photographing your art work are available for checkout. See the instructor.

Contributions of paper, money, or ink are welcome. This offsets some of the materials cost and insures that there are enough for everyone's portfolio.
