Course Outline


Course Description

This course is largely based on learning the software Adobe Photoshop. Students learn to scan photographs and manipulate them using Photoshop tool box and special effects filters. They will learn to color correct photos; mask image using channels; create duotone, tritone, and quadtone images; prepare photos for use in printing and on the web. This course is also listed as CSIS and Art 75. It has the option of a letter grade or credit/no credit and may be repeated three times for credit.
ADVISORY: CSIS 24 (Windows Fundamentals), CSIS 2L, or familiarity with Macintosh or Windows operating system. Transferable: CSU

SOFTWARE: This semester we will use Photoshop CS3. If you have an earlier version, it might be sufficient. If you would like to upgrade or obtain a low cost educational version of Photoshop CS3, check with the instructor. Students can purchase a licensed version of Photoshop CS3 or the Creative Suite at a considerable discount.
