What is a Dialog Box?

Windows XP uses dialog boxes to exchange information with you. As you read earlier, a menu command followed by an ellipsis (…) indicates that when you select the command, a dialog box will appear asking you for the information the program needs to complete the operation.

Procedures:

1. Open the Start menu using either the mouse or the keyboard.
2. Choose the Turn Off Computer... command.
3. Click on the Cancel button to close the dialog box.
