Using Text Boxes

You use a text box to enter the information that Windows 98 needs to complete a command. This information is usually a file name or directory name. Figure 4.1 shows a text box and list boxes in the Open dialog box (accessed from the Windows 98 WordPad File menu).

Procedures:

1. Open the Start menu.
2. Click on the Programs menu.
3. Click on the Accessories submenu.
4. Click on the program called Wordpad.
5. Click on the File menu and select the Open function.
6. Try clicking on the various text box, list box and drop-down boxes.
7. Choose the Cancel command button to close the Open dialog box.
