What is a Dialog Box?

Windows 98 uses dialog boxes to exchange information with you. As you read earlier, a menu command followed by an ellipsis (…) indicates that when you select the command, a dialog box will appear asking you for the information the program needs to complete the operation.

Procedures:

1. Open the Start menu using either the mouse or the keyboard.
2. Choose the Shut Down... command.
3. Click on the Close button or click on the Cancel button to close the dialog box.
