You will not be able to log in until Tuesday, Sept 4th.

To create your user i.d., use your entire last name plus the last four digits of your social security number. (No spaces and no capital letters)

Use 'changeme' for your password.

Description:

In this class we will look at the 3 skills of an information competent person:

  1. Find information
  2. Evaluate information
  3. Present information

We will cover information databases and how to search them. We will look at steps to evaluating what you find, how to organize statistical information, how to present it in graphs or charts, and how to cite information resources. We will put it all together in a PowerPoint presentation, to give you practice in the last skill.

Objectives: By the end of the course, you will be able to use book and periodical databases to find information on a particular topic. You will be able to analyze the reliability of a piece of information by looking for specific clues. You will be able to present the information you find in graphic, digital formats.
