Alternative Scriptwriting, Writing Beyond the Rules, by Dancyger & Rush
PN 1996 D36 1995
The "writing beyond the rules" approach is a good complement to Syd Field's emphasis on structure. On the way to beyond the rules the first few chapters do a concise job of describing the rules.

Writing for New Media, Andrew Bonhime & Ken C. Pohlman, 1998
New media present new challenges to writers. It's a frontier where you might catch a glimpse of the next 500 years of human history.

Screenplay, 1982, Syd Field
Four Screenplays, 1994, Syd Field
Everybody knows Syd. You can probably find him in a used bookstore, and if you're really into writing for screen, you probably should. He's a strong & convincing proponent of Aristotelian structure, and expounds the concepts & terminology of writing very well. Even if you are simply a movie fan with no aspirations to write, Four Screenplays would probably be an interesting read.

Aristotle, Kenneth McLeish

Aristotle for everybody : difficult thought made easy, Adler, Mortimer Jerome

Joseph Campbell does not specifically write about scriptwriting, but his works on mythology, such as The Hero With A Thousand Faces are resources that many writers and editors use to get a deeper understanding of storytelling. The Bill Moyers PBS series with Joseph Campbell is another portal into storytelling craft.

Your textbook for these classes. It is available on reserve in the library. Doesn't matter whether it is #2 or #3.

Video Production Handbook, Leonard Shyles
TR 851.S525 1998
A textbook similar to Zettl's Video Basics 2 with slightly different emphases and different ways of illustrating and explaining ideas that can help to solidify your understanding when you are researching a topic. Compared to Zettl, Shyles gives more info on these topics: performing, field production, graphic & set design, the technology of television transmission. He also has a fresh take on scriptwriting, communications theory (relevant to reproduction) and producing/directing.

In a class by itself:
The Grip Book, 2nd Edition Michael G. Uva & Sabrina Uva
TR899.U93 1997
