Note about VISTA, Office 2007 The Gavilan Spanish programs (Gaspar, Dictionary, etc.) are tested and supported on the version of Microsoft Windows™ currently installed at the College, specifically Windows XP and Office 2003. At present, Gavilan College has no plans to upgrade to Windows VISTA and Office 2007. This significantly limits our ability to test and support our software on these new versions. To the best of our knowledge,
Gaspar and the Dictionary work on VISTA. |

(09/14/2007) Error connecting Dictionary to Office 2007
This occurs both on XP and on Vista/ When the user opens the
MsWord_Readme document on the CD and clicks on Connect, the program
reports an error and stops. The problem can be corrected by applying the
Office patch available here |

>>>

The patch must be
applied from the user ID which is trying to Connect the Dictionary to
Office 2007 |

(09/07/2007) Error accessing PDOXUSRS.NET (VISTA systems only) This occurs on Vista machines with multiple users defined - after Gaspar has been installed by the Administrator user ID, when a different user with less privileges attempts to run the application. The problem can be avoided by
running Gaspar from the same Administrator ID which installed the
program, or by applying the Vista
patch available here |

(01/31/2003) Missing lessons in SPAN1B, SPAN8B (XP systems only)
They are not really missing - but because Windows XP sorts blank
spaces differently than earlier versions, lessons 8 and 9 are listed
at the end, instead of at the beginning, before lesson 10. |

(01/31/2003) Messed-up accents on Así Es CD (XP systems only)
The Introductory Spanish Multimedia CD included with the
Así Es textbook, 3rd Edition, displays some pages with
incorrect accents. The video and audio parts are fine, but the text
panels may have strange characters in place of some accents. |
