This pages attempts to list rare computer science (CS) classes and our own Gavilan classes. Rare CS classes are courses that are difficult to locate but still useful. For example, good COBOL or RPG classes would be useful and rare, but C/C++ classes are not rare or difficult to locate.

C Programming: C Programming courses are fairly common. In this category C and C++ are treated separately. According to some reports C is the third most used programming language. At Gavilan College we have CSIS 43 C Programming scheduled for Fall 2007. DeAnza College has several different levels of C Programming. Look at CIS-15AG, CIS-15BG.

C++ Programming: C++ programming courses are offered at most CC including at Gavilan College. Our C++ course is CSIS 45.

C# Programming: C# is a very nice language, one of the best newer languages. C# are available at many CC including our CSIS 44 course. At DeAnza their C# course is CIS 65A.

COBOL Programming: Looking for COBOL courses, especially in California.

Perl Programming: Perl courses are fairly common. Gavilan has CSIS 54 Perl class which is taught every third semester or so.

RPG Programming: Looking for RPG courses, especially in California.

Ruby Programming: Looking for RUBY courses, especially in California.

If you have courses to suggest for this list send me e-mail.

Free software downloads: The web site: http://www.bloodshed.net/ has a long list of software you can download. Some of this software can be used to do your work at home for our classes. The have C++ and Basic compilers.
