This is a good class for those new to programming and recommended for non-programmers that want to take other programming classes. This course has the option of a letter grade or credit/no credit.
Objectives: Students will learn program in the BASIC programming language.  This course is our first programming course and the advisory course for all other programming courses. CSIS 10 transfers to both UC and CSU.
Web Orientations: The Gavilan Library will offer several orientations to online courses during the first two weeks of the semester. If you have never taken an online course, this orientation will provide critical information to help you be successful in this class. If you are unable to attend an orientation on campus, an online tutorial will be available. For more details see the schedule of orientations
Texts: The texts being used for the current semester are listed below. These may change:
QBASIC Fundamentals and Style by James Quasney, et. al, Course Technology, Second Edition, (ISBN 0-619-01625-6). The college bookstore does not have the book, so you will need to order if from www.amazon.com or www.half.com.
