Transfer Information for Anthropology Majors

An A.A. or B.A. in Anthropology can lead to entry level jobs in research, travel, archaeology, activism, and international relations.  Anthropology graduate degrees open up opportunities for careers in: teaching, research, forensics, museum studies, business, international diplomacy, activism, health assistance, the travel industry, the national park service, development, and many more fields! Feel free to talk with anthropology faculty as well as the Career Center about such opportunities.

Transfer students have three sets of requirements to consider for successful transfer to UC, CSU, and most private institutions. They are: 1) admission requirements to the specific university; 2) general education requirements at the specific university; and 3) lower division preparation in the major (courses needed to be admissible to the major).  To ensure that you understand and include all of the above in your educational plan, it is a good idea to meet with a counselor early in your attendance at Gavilan College. Information on equivalencies for general education and major requirements at UC and CSU is available at www.assist.org.
