CGD 30: Environmental Design
CGD 30 projects provide experience necessary to plan, design, develop, build and oversee construction projects associated with environmental design career goals. CGD 30 helps develop specialized technical skills required by for diverse environmental design careers, including:
architectural, interior design, environmental planning, civil engineering and other design careers that relate to the built
environment. CGD Environmental Design students gain multifaceted communication skills required to propose, develop, construct, evaluate and bid projects. Problem solving and visual communication are demonstrated using freehand diagrams and design sketches and Building Information Management via computer generated 3D models, plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules and specifications enable students to create and manage projects in a timely, cost effective and environmentally sound manner.
Students' portfolios enable them to thoughtfully organize presentations of products they develop so their work samples demonstrate skills to gain clients and access employment.
